Ireland West Airport Knock has announced that managing director Liam Scollan is stepping down from his role to become the new chairman at the airport.
The news followed the announcement that Joe Kennedy is retiring as chairman and will become hon President of the airport company.
The changes come hot on the heels of the recent announcements that Knock has secured its first continental european route operated by ryanair and that Aerlingus has included Knock on its schedule from its new hub at Gatwick in London.
Mr Scollan has headed the airport since 2002 and has been known as “group managing director” since 2007 when Knock reorganised its management structure as a group.
Knock is one of the most profitable airports in Ireland.
