Brenda Shanahan wins TV3’s Apprentice with Bill Cullen, Ireland

Brenda Shanahan saw off the challenge of Nicky O’Callaghan to be crowned the winner of TV3’s Apprentice show in a very tight finish.

In the final show the two finalists competed in a challenging task to raise money for an assigned charity, at a Charity Gala Dinner. The task included creating a celebrity selling event for 3G mobile stores in Dundrum and Swords County Dublin in which 3G pledged to donate the profits to the relevant charity. This was combined with a charity gala ball hosted by the Moran-Bewley hotel group.

The final tally of the funds raised showed that Brenda raised €19,800 versus Nicky’s €18,700 and with the margin that tight it was very unclear which way the final decision would go. Bill cullen made the final decision based on Brenda’s consistency and energy over the 12 weeks of the show.

In the final comments by Bill Cullen, as he praised Nicky and assured her that she had a promising career ahead of her, he became emotional and narrowly avoided a Louis Walsh style breakdown on that other reality TV show, The X-Factor.
