Anthony Daly appointed Dublin hurling manager

County Clare man, Anthony Daly was officially confirmed as Dublin‘s new senior hurling manager at a meeting of the Dublin County Board last night for a two year term.

Daly was captain of Clare in 1995 and 1997 when they won the All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and was manager of the banner county from 2003 to 2006.

He steered the Banner to the All-Ireland semi-finals stage in both 2005 and 2006, but Cork and Kilkenny proved too strong on both occasions.

Since then, Daly has been a popular pundit, with regular appearances on RTE‘s GAA program “The Sunday Game”

Dublin will be hoping for improved fortunes in 2009 and obviously with this high profile appointment aim to be a major force in the hurling championship.
