New motorways in Ireland. n7, n6, n8, n9 now to be m7, m6, m8, m9

Journey times in Ireland have been reduced today with the upgrade of over 100km of dual-carriageway on national primary roads to “Motorway” status.

Sections of Dual-Carriageway on the N6 (Dublin-Galway), N7(Dublin – Limerick) , N8 (Cork – Dublin) and N9 (Dublin – Waterford) were upgraded today and will see speed limits increased to 120km per hour.

This will see op to 20 minutes knocked off some journeys.

From today learner driver with provisional licenses will nolonger be permotted to use these sections of road.
